The Government’s long term strategy to address the housing needs of Tasmanians is being implemented through the 10-year Affordable Housing Strategy 2015-25. The Strategy addresses the entire housing spectrum from home ownership to affordable rental, public and community housing and crisis accommodation, across all demographics, in all regions of the State.
Affordable Housing Action Plan Stage 1
The Affordable Housing Action Plan Stage 1 commits $73.5 million over four years from 2015 to 2019 to address the housing needs of Tasmanians. The Action Plan is on track to deliver its stage one outcomes:
Affordable Housing Action Plan Stage 2
The second stage commits an extra $125 million over the next five years, starting in 2018-19. Successful elements of the Affordable Housing Action Plan Stage 1 will continue. Consultation for Stage 2 will begin in June 2018.
